Artistic Staff


Dev Ross, Artistic Director, is a graduate of UCLA and was a founding member of the New Artef Players. There, she originated one of the roles in the acclaimed Holocaust drama, SURVIVORS and later starred as YENTL in the West Coast Premier of the play made famous by Barbra Streisand's film. Shortly after graduating from UCLA, Dev went to work for 12th Night Repertory as an actress, director and writer. Dev created the synthesis of movement, text and sound that became the cornerstone of all 12th Night and ETC plays, writing and directing over 70 plays for the schools. Her book for ONCE UPON A GENESIS at the Westwood Playhouse won a Drama-Logue Award for Best New Musical. A two-time Emmy winner (and five-time nominee), Dev won an Emmy for the educational children's series, TNRC PRESENTS and one for Walt Disney TV Animation's THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH. As a Disney staff writer, she worked on such series as RESCUE RANGERS, WINNIE THE POOH and THE LITTLE MERMAID. She wrote the first four LAND BEFORE TIME sequels for Steven Spielberg's Amblin at MCA/Universal and is currently working on the LAND BEFORE TIME IX. Other credits include FOX CUBHOUSE and a Christmas special for FOX TV, Classic Fairy Tales for Film Roman, several episodes of the BOOK OF VIRTUES cartoon series, BALTO II (Universal), and CLIFFORD, the TV series based on the acclaimed books.

Ann Greer, Producing Director, trained at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Scripps College in Claremont. A Drama-Logue Award Winner, Ann acted with Actors' Alley, South Coast Repertory, the Globe Playhouse, 12th Night Repertory and the Los Angeles Women's Shakespeare Company, and has served on the boards of Actors' Alley and Women In Theater. She co-produced HOT L BALTIMORE at Actors' Alley. It won 2 Drama-Logue Awards. Management and marketing experience include Embassy Home Entertainment, ETD Distributing (where she was their first woman branch manager in charge of video distribution to over 500 retailers spread across 11 Western states), and Wherehouse Entertainment where she successfully managed a $21,000,000 budget. Ann helped form ETC in 1993 and oversees the production of all shows.

Benito Martinez, Company Director, writer-actor, spent 3 years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art after graduating from Hollywood High's Performing Arts School. Soon after returning to the States, he joined ETC where he has played a wide variety of roles on and off stage: actor, writer and director. Besides appearing in all ETC shows since ETC's inception, Benito wrote and directed UNDER THE GUN and SMOKE OUT DAY. He co-directed CHOICES and SMOKE SIGNALS. Other credits include several major roles including HAMLET with Will & Co. at the Los Angeles Theater Center, A Contemporary Theater in Seattle, Sacramento Repertory Theater and South Coast Repertory. He has had significant roles in such films as MI FAMILIA/(MY FAMILY) and OUTBREAK. His TV work includes STAR TREK, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and CHICAGO HOPE.

Cynthia Santos-DeCure, writer-workshop teacher, is a native of Puerto Rico. She is a theater arts graduate of the University of Southern California, trained at New York's New Actors' Workshop and continued her graduate work at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. Her most recent stage work includes Henry V at the Knightsbridge Theater, The Tempest at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum. Film and TV work includes The Mambo Kings, Murder She Wrote, The Bold & The Beautiful, General Hospital, the recurring role of Tawny on Days of Our Lives; and numerous commercials in both Spanish and English. She is currently the Co-Artistic Director and a founder of LATINA REPERTORY COMPANY, based in L.A. Her writings include Choices, Crossroads, Respect & Tolerance, Time Out Zone II, Black History & Latino History for ETC. She has been working with "at-risk" youth since 1992. She began her work with the LA County Children's Court helping abused children. She has created and conducted bilingual drama / improvisational workshops for at-risk youth for such groups as the Los Angeles Alliance for a Drug Free Community, LA's Best and LAPD-Central Division. Cynthia currently serves on the National Board of Directors of the Screen Actors Guild and is the former National Chair of the Women's Committee. She also represented the Guild in the 1997 Commercial negotiations in New York and was part of the delegation that opened a new SAG branch in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico. She is currently in post-production for her first video project which she co-wrote, directed and produced: MY BABY'S BILINGUAL: A VIDEO TO TEACH INFANTS AND TODDLERS HOW TO SPEAK SPANISH.

Deborah Walley, writer, teacher, director, is probably best known for her role as "Gidget" in GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN, the film that catapulted her to stardom in the 1960's. Her credits, however, begin at the age of three and include an extensive background in New York theater. She starred as Irena in Chekhov's "Three Sisters" off Broadway when Joyce Selznick spotted her and brought her to Hollywood. Only 15 at the time, she went on to star in 16 more films at MGM, AIP and Disney. Partial credits include SUMMER MAGIC, BON VOYAGE, SPINOUT with Elvis Presley, TV series regular on THE MOTHERS-IN-LAW, produced and directed by Desi Arnaz, and hundreds of guest TV appearances. She stopped her acting career to devote herself to her children. This led her to a new career as a writer for children and a producer/director of Children's Theater. She founded "The Pied Piper", a theatrical troupe which toured all up and down the West Coast with children's shows. She has developed children's programming for Disney and other animation studios, has had several children's books published, is a recipient of a Cine Golden Eagle Award for a short film she produced and co-wrote and has traveled around the world conducting her IMAGINATION PLAYSHOPS for children. During the nineties she was Artistic Director of the Charles W. Raison Theatre in Sedona, Arizona where she also founded the very successful Sedona Children's Theatre Company. Recently relocated to Los Angeles, Deborah just finished a stint on the soap opera, PASSIONS at NBC. Deborah was a co-writer and director on ETC'S BLACK HISTORY and LATINO CELEBRATION shows.
